Our Curriculum

Created by early-learning educators with over 150 years of combined experience, Learning Beyond Paper’s research-based, classroom-tested curriculum follows a social-constructivist approach, designed to create learning opportunities for children through peer-based activities and intentional interactions with their teachers. This type of learning is most closely related to enforcing ideas that the child has already had in their life experience in efforts to more easily relate the new information. The child constructs new understanding and knowledge through experience and social discourse.

INFANTS

During their first 12 months, infants learn, change, and grow quickly. Learning Beyond curriculum includes engaging activities specifically for this age range of children. We, and the experts behind the curriculum, know what to expect from infants of different developmental levels as they are exposed to interactions with relationships at the heart of their learning and growth.

YOUNGER TODDLERS

The ages of 12 to 24 months bring about a flurry of activity, movement, language, and initial steps of independence. Learning Beyond focuses on building practical skills, language, and social-emotional learning, all with relationship-focused teaching and care at the heart. Your child will flourish during these stages with our curriculum.

OLDER TODDLERS

“I’m 2 now!” From 24 to 36 months, older toddlers are learning from their behaviors and choices, trying lots of new things, getting messy, and learning how to clean up. Learning Beyond focuses on scaffolding children’s previous learnings and interactions, giving children choices that empower them. We love this type of learning because it builds the confidence and trust that toddlers thrive under.

PRESCHOOL

Three-year-olds are always finding new, unique ways to do things and have a strong desire to know why or how– a lot! Learning Beyond’s use of open-ended questions in daily activities heightens curiosity and problem-solving skills at this stage, providing opportunities for active engagement as trusted learners. This curriculum uses a form of coaching, which is just another way of encouraging the child to find the answer themselves- because we know they already have it, they just need that encouraging, gentle nudge.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN

Four-year-olds continue to build upon the skills they learned in preschool, creating layers of learning and knowledge through practice and novel opportunities. Children’s development of language grows into an understanding of early reading and writing in preparation for kindergarten. Through active learning and scaffolding, pre-kindergartners can build confidence and thrive in a predictable classroom environment.

STEAM

Learning Beyond includes a S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) focus throughout for all age groups.

Kinder-5th Grade

Kindred Learning Academy offers before and after school programs, as well as camps during Holiday Breaks and Summer. Our programs will provide a place to relax with friends while enjoying exciting activities and field trips. Our before and after school program will offer a homework club that will have homework assistance, allowing families to share a homework-free evening together. Kindred Learning Academy is here to provide the best experience not only for the child, but the entire family unit.

We believe that forming friendships and facing challenges together builds confidence. By offering opportunities and encouragement through our school age activities such as sports, cooking, the arts of drawing, acting, writing and music, as well as fun with technology and science, we believe our children will develop strong self-worth and respect for others. These are the skills and life experiences that will continue to be built upon, long after they graduate from Kindred Learning Academy.
